How AI Engine works
Every AI plugin for WordPress makes the same bet: that you want their chatbot, on their model, at their price, with your keys on their server. AI Engine takes the opposite position. You bring your own provider account, your own keys, and your own models, and the plugin is the layer that makes them useful inside WordPress.
That means OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, Perplexity and OpenRouter behind one consistent interface, switchable at any time. No markup on tokens, no metered add-on, no lock-in. If a better model ships next month you change a dropdown.
The chatbots are the visible part: popup, inline or fullscreen, themeable, with voice and file uploads, and grounded in your own content through embeddings so they answer from your site instead of guessing. Point them at Pinecone, Qdrant, Chroma or the OpenAI Vector Store, push your posts and PDFs in, and the bot stops hallucinating about your product.
The less visible part is the one that changes how you work. AI Engine turns your WordPress into an MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT and Claude Code can read, edit and manage the site through plain conversation. Orchestration runs it the other way, letting your chatbots reach out to external MCP servers. A REST API exposes the whole thing to n8n, Make or your own scripts.

Simple and easy AI integration
The onboarding process is simple and fast. The knowledge base support is also helpful. I have n8n self-host, but using AI Engine with preset features is enough and faster to enhance WordPress site with AI capabilities.
